Lumia 1520 is the first flagship phablet from Finnish manufacturer Nokia featuring Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8 OS. It was previously rumored few months ago and was also known by its codename Bandit. In size, it measures 8.7mm in thickness and weighs only 209g. The Lumia 1520 features a 6-inch full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM. For multimedia, Lumia 1520 packs a 20 Mega Pixel PureView camera at back with dual LED flash and 1.2 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls. In addition to that it comes with new Nokia Camera app that combines features of Pro camera and Smart Camera.

For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GLONASS, GPS-A, NFC technology, Wireless charging capability and LTE mobile connections. The Nokia Lumia 1520 comes pre-installed with Windows Phone 8 OS with GDR3 update which supports quad core processor and 1080p display resolution. On the software front Instagram and Vine apps will be the new additioins in the coming weeks. Nokia Storyteller and Beamer apps will be available at launch. For storage, it comes with 32GB built in memory and microSD card slot. Nokia claims battery life of up to 25.1 hrs on a 3G connection.

The Lumia 1520 will go on sale in Q4 2013 for $749. It will be available in matte yellow, matte black, gloss white, and gloss red. Initially it will be available in USA, UK, Honk Kong, Singapore and several European markets. The Lumia 1520 will also come with an optional flip cover that magnetically attaches and acts as a stand when folded and a DC-50 portable wireless charging plate which has an integrated battery that can extend the battery life for 5hrs.
