Galaxy S5 will be the next flagship smartphone from korean giant Samsung featuring Flexible OLED display panels for the first time in smartphone history. The expectations were that flexible display will be launched with latest flagship Galaxy S4 but Samsung decided to go against it. Despite this, Galaxy S4 is Samsung’s fastest selling smartphone by shipping 10 million units within 27 days. The development and designing teams are working really hard to bring flexible displays on to smartphones. Samsung officially unveils YOUM display panels (pictured below) at CES 2013 showing off a plastic based AMOLED display that will be used in next flagship smartphone. The Galaxy S5 is rumored to be lightest and thinnest smartphone in the world. It will also be the first smartphone to feature finger print scanner. The finger print scanner can be used as a security system to unlock smartphone and authenticate app purchasing and all kind of password related scenarios. The Galaxy S5 is rumored to pack a 5-inch curved OLED display. It will be powered by Octa core processor and 4GB RAM. The battery life on next flagship will be significantly higher because of Flexible OLED display. There is no further information available on the handset but it is expected to be launched during Q1 of 2014. Stay tuned for more updates or follow @harrym20 on Twitter.
