iPhone 6 is rumored to be the next flagship smartphone from Cupertino Giant Apple. The iPhone 5 has just been launched but design & development team is already working on its successor iPhone 6. There have been mixed reviews from tech industry in regards to latest flagship. The iPhone 5 is bigger, faster and lighter than predecessor iPhone 4S but lacks a wow factor that is always associated with Apple brand. Next generation iPhone 6 will feature an even bigger screen than iPhone 5, probably a 4.8-inch Super HD Retina display. It will be powered by quad core processor and 2GB RAM. iPhone 6 will be bigger and thinner than its predecessor. Update : According to an Apple patent filed in the US, next generation iPhones or iPads could use facial recognition technology to lock or activate certain features if a user is authorized or unauthorized. The patent is made up of three systems : a face detection decision application, a face recognition application and an input/output control application. These systems will work together to determine whether a user is authorized or not. The patent states “The invention, in various embodiments, addresses deficiencies in the prior art by providing systems, methods and devices that enable a personal computing device to detect the presence of at least one user, without the need for receiving active user input information, and control certain device operations depending on whether a user is present.” According to the patent, Apple’s facial recognition would stop the notification being displayed because the user is not authorized. This confirms that next generation iPhones and iPads will be more secure thanks to these new addiional features. Apple recently confirms the acquisition of PrimeSense, an Israeli motion sensing hardware and software firm responsible for the technology behind Microsoft’s Kinect.
Update : According to a new rumor from Foxconn insiders, Apple’s 2014 smartphone lineup will feature a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhones. The flagship smartphone (iPhone 6 or iPhone Air) is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Update : According to a new report, Apple is planning to create ‘transparent’ iPhones in future by using a new rear camera technology. The technology would modify an app’s background to project live video images from the rear camera onto the screen. Phone users would then see any obstacles looming up on them as they walked.

Update : According to a Reuters report, the displays for Apple’s next flagship smartphone iPhone 6 will enter mass production as early as May 2014. Apple is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone in September 2014, with 4.7-inch display likely to be produced first while a 5.5-inch could be delayed.
Update : According to new rumors, Apple’s next flagship iPhone will come with a sleep/wake button on the side to facilitate one handed operation. In an extensive research note, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo has shared that Apple’s next flagship smartphone will be called iPhone 6 and it will come with sleep/wake button on the side of iPhone. In addition to that Kuo believes that iPhone 6 will come in two variants – 4.7-inch display model with resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels (326ppi pixel density) and 5.5-inch model with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (401ppi pixel density). The iPhone 6 will be powered by a new A8 processor and 1GB RAM. For connectivity, the next flagship will finally include NFC technology.
