Xperia Z Ultra is the next flagship phablet from Japanese manufacturer Sony featuring Google’s Android 4.2 OS. It was previously rumored few weeks ago. The Xperia Z Ultra is the first Sony smartphone to feature over 6-inch display and the design is similar to current flagship Xperia Z. In size, it measures 6.5mm in thickness and weighs 212g. The Xperia Z Ultra features a 6.44inch full HD display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (342ppi pixel density). It is powered by Qualcomm’s 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM. For multimedia Xperia Z Ultra packs an 8 Mega Pixel Exmor RS rear camera and 2 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls. For storage, it comes with 16GB built-in memory and microSD card slot. The Xperia Z ultra comes pre-installed with Google’s latest Android 4.2 OS. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS technology and 3G mobile connections. In addition to that Xperia Z Ultra packs a powerful 3000mAh battery. The Xperia Z Ultra also comes with IP57 and IP58 certification making it dust and water resistant smartphone. There is no information on pricing but Xperia Z Ultra will go on sale in Q3 of 2013. It will be available in three different colors – Black, White and Purple. Update : Sony Xperia Z Ultra is now available to pre-order on Amazon Germany for €679 (£575 or $884). It is expected to go on sale during Q3 of 2013.
