Samsung ATIV S is the world’s first smartphone to feature Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8 . Samsung officially confirmed the launch of ATIV S in an event at IFA 2012. ATIV S will feature a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. ATIV S will be powered by Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM. In size, it measures 137.2 x 70.5 x 8.7mm and weighs only 135g. For multimedia, ATIV S comes with a 8 Mega Pixel rear camera and 1.9 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls. ATIV S will come with a physical windows button and will run Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8. For storage, ATIV S will come in two version of internal storage – 16GB & 32GB. In addition to internal storage it will also come with microSD card slot. For connectivity, it will support Bluetooth 3.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, HSPA+ mobile connections and GPS location services. ATIV S will come with a 2300mAh battery that will provide plenty of juice for power users. Samsung has somehow surprised everyone by launching world’s first Windows Phone 8 device. Other flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphones coming soon this fall are Nokia Lumia Phi and HTC Zenith.
