The Redmi S2 is the latest budget friendly smartphone from Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi featuring Google’s latest Android 8.1 OS. The design is similar to Redmi Note 5 which was launched earlier this year. The new Redmi S2 features a 5.99-inch with HD+ display resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s octa core Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB/4GB RAM. For multimedia, the new Redmi S2 packs a Dual camera setup (12MP plus 5MP) on the back and a AI assisted 16MP front facing camera with LED flash.
The new Redmi S2 comes pre-installed with Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo OS and MIUI 9. For storage, it comes with a 32GB/64GB internal memory with support for micro-SD card. The new Redmi S2 will be available to purchase in three different color options: Rose gold, Champagne gold and Platinum Silver. It will go on sale in China in the coming weeks for $160 (3GB/32GB variant). Stay tuned for more updates.
