At the recent Lenovo Tech World 2017, the Chinese company has showcased the prototype for the next generation bendable/foldable smartphone/tablet hybrid. The design is similar to current tablets in the market with the exception of flexible display panel which can be folded in the middle to make a portable device.

 

 

The new smartphone/tablet hybrid prototype shown at Tech World 2017 features a 5.5-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1440 pixels. It was running Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Rests of the specs are still unknown but Lenovo is expected to launch hybrid devices with foldable/bendable displays in the coming years. Stay tuned for more updates.

Panasonic Officially Unveils Bendable Lithium-ion Battery


Panasonic has officially unveiled a bendable, twistable and flexible lithium-ion battery at CEATEC 2016 in Japan. This rechargeable battery can withstand bending and twisting and can still retain its characteristics. It can be used in smart cards, smart watches, wearable devixes and smart clothing. 


The flexible lithium-ion battery is 0.55mm thick and uses the company’s stacked electrode construction that has resistance to bending and twisting. The new battery uses a laminated outer body and internal structure that makes it safe to use in wearable and body attached devices. OnePlus Two is rumored to be the next flagship device from Chinese manufacturer OnePlus featuring Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It will be the successor to company’s debutant OnePlus One. The OnePlus Two will feature a 5.5-inch display. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 processor. For multimedia, the OnePlus Two will feature a 16 Mega Pixel rear camera and 5 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls. For connectivity, it will support Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/GPS-A, NFC technology and LTE mobile connections.

The OnePlus Two will come pre-installed with latest version of CyanogenMod OS which will be based on Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. For storage, it will come with 32GB built in memory and micro-SD card slot. In addition to that it will come with a powerful 3300mAh battery. Rest of the specs are still unknown but OnePlus is expected to launch next flagship in Q3 of 2015. It will go on sale in selected markets for $551.99. Stay tuned for more updates.

According to a new report, OnePlus is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus Two in July 2015.

The OnePlus Two is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP camera at back with Optical Image Stabilisation and latest Oxygen OS based on Google’s latest Android 5.1 OS. It will go on sale in selected markets for $320.

Apple iPhone 7 Concept

The iPhone 7 (or iPhone 6S) is rumored to be the next flagship smartphone from Cupertino giant Apple featuring the next generation iOS 9. It will be the successor to current flagship, the iPhone 6. The specifications and design are still unknown but According to Apple Blogger John Gruber, Apple is working on the “biggest camera jump ever”  for the next iPhone. It will feature an improved camera system with two lenses that will take DSLR like pictures.

The specific thing I heard is that next years camera might be the biggest camera jump ever. I don’t even know what sense this makes, but I’ve heard that it’s some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery. “

Rest of the specifications are still unknown but Apple is expected to launch iPhone 7 by the end of Q3 of 2015. The iPhone 7 will compete against other flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and Sony Xperia Z4. Stay tuned for more updates.

Update : Apple’s Next Flagship May be Able to Rotate Itself in Mid Air and Will Always Land Right Way Up

Apple has received approval for a patent that describes a phone which can sense when it has been dropped, thanks to the built-in motion sensors, and use the motor that makes a vibrating ringtone to shift in mid-air so that the screen is facing directly upwards when it lands. This, it claims, makes breakages less likely.

The patent also describes how the battery could be ejected from the phone in order to change the direction it is spinning.

It even suggests that a headphone socket could be made to contract when it detects a fall, potentially stopping an impact with the floor by using the lead as a safety cord.
