The iPhone 5C is Apple’s first mid-range smartphone featuring next generation iOS 7 operating system. It is designed to compete against other mid-range smartphones running Android and Windows Phone. Unlike iPhone 5S, the iPhone 5C comes with a plastic back. The entire back and sides are made from a single part of hard-coated polycarbonate body with a steel reinforced frame for a solid and sturdy feel. The iPhone 5C features a 4-inch Retina display with resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels (326ppi pixel density). It is powered by dual core A6 processor and 1GB RAM. For multimedia, iPhone 5C packs a 8 Mega Pixel iSight camera at back capable of shooting 1080p videos and a new front facing FaceTime HD camera for FaceTime video calls. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and LTE mobile connections. The iPhone 5C comes pre-installed with iOS 7, the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone. The iOS7 is designed to complement the exteriors of iPhone 5C, with matching wallpapers and translucency that carry the color through the entire experience.
The iPhone 5C will come in five different colors – white, yellow, green, blue and red and the SIM-free handset will be available to purchase in UK for £469 for the 16GB and £549 for the 32GB variant. It will be available to purchase on September 20th and customers can pre-order their iPhone 5C beginning September 13th. Stay tuned for more updates or follow @harrym20 on Twitter.
