Sony Xperia Tablet

Xperia Tablet is a newly designed tablet from Sony running Google’s Ice cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Xperia tablet is the successor to Sony’s original Tablet S. Xperia tablet will feature a 9.4-inch HD display with the resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. In size it will be only 11.85mm thick, 42% thinner than its predecessor. Xperia tablet will be powered by 1.2GHz quad core tegra 3 processor with the addition of 1GB RAM. It will run Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) OS. For connectivity Xperia tablet will support Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and an optional 3G mobile connection. For storage it will come in three versions – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Battery life on Xperia tablet is significantly improved with 6000 mAh battery. It will last for upto 10 hrs of Wifi browsing. For multimedia Xperia tablet will come with dual cameras, 8 Mega pixel rear and 1 Mega pixel camera at front for features like video chat. There is a new clever feature called Guest mode added to this tablet. It only allows selected apps and data for the guest users to browse. According to leaked slides from mobiFlip there will be new accessories available on launch with Xperia tablet. It includes a regular carrying case and a keyboard case, which both props up the Xperia Tablet and offers easier text entry for the users. A USB host cable will allow external devices such as full sized keyboards to be plugged in.

Overall, Sony Xperia tablet is a good upgrade for Tablet S. Sony is marketing this device as multimedia and gaming tablet. DLNA streaming is available and games on this tablet are PlayStation certified. Xperia Tablet will be launched in september 2012. 16GB will go on sale for $449.99, 32GB for $549.99 and 64GB for $649.99.
