The Honor 9 is the latest mid-range smartphone from Chinese manufacturer Huawei featuring Google’s Android OS. It is the successor to last year’s Honor 8 which was quite popular due to its dual camera setup. In size, it measures 147.3 x 70.9 x 7.45mm and weighs 155g. The new Honor 9 features a 5.15-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by 2.4GHz octa core Kirin 960 processor and 4GB/6GB RAM (depending on regions). For multimedia, the new Honor 9 packs a 20MP and 12MP dual camera setup at back with PDAF and dual tone LED flash and an 8MP front facing camera for video calls and Selfie pictures. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C and LTE mobile connections.
The Honor 9 comes pre-installed with Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat OS and EMUI 5.1. For storage, it comes with a 64GB/128GB built-in memory. In addition to that it comes with a powerful 3200mAh battery that supports fast charging. The new Honor 9 will be available to purchase in three different colors: Black, Blue, Amber Gold. It will go on sale in China starting June 16 for $400 (for 4GB/64GB variant) and $440 (for 6GB/128GB variant). Stay tuned for more updates.
