Android creator Andy Rubin’s Essential has officially announced Essential Phone featuring an edge-to-edge display and Google’s Android OS. In size, it measures 141.5 x 71.1 x 7.8 mm and weighs 185g. The body is made up of titanium so it can survive a good drop without much damage. The Essential Phone features a 5.7-inch QHD display with resolution of 2560 x 1312 pixels (Aspect Ratio-19:10). It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset Snapdragon 835 and 4GB RAM. For multimedia, the new Essential Phone comes with a Dual 13MP cameras at back with PDAF and an 8MP Selfie camera capable of shooting 4K videos.. In addition to that it comes with a magnetic connector at top that allows users to clip on accessories like 360 degree camera and charging dock. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, NFC technology, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C port and LTE Mobile connections.
The Essential Phone comes pre-installed with Google’s Android OS. For storage, it has a 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage with no support for micro-SD card. The new flagship phone will also not support 3.5mm headphone jack. It also comes with a 3000mAh battery with fast charging technology. The Essential Phone will be available to purchase in four different colors: Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White and Ocean depth. It is now available to pre-order in the US for $699. For a limited time, Essential Phone plus 360 degree camera will be available to purchase for $749. Stay tuned for more updates.
