Xiaomi has officially unveiled two new high end smartphones: the Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus. Both comes pre-installed with Google’s Android Marshmallow OS and latest MIUI 8.
The Mi 5S is the latest high end smartphone featuring a 5.15-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 Pixels. It is world’s first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint reader which is under the glass display. It is powered by 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 processor and 3GB/4GB RAM (depending on the internal storage). For multimedia, the Mi 5S packs a 12 Mega Pixel Sony IMX 378 camera at back with Dual LED flash and a 4 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls and Selfie pictures. It also comes with USB Type-C connector and supports LTE mobile connections. Additionally, it comes with a powerful 3200mAh battery.
The Mi 5S Plus features a 5.7-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB/6GB RAM. For multimedia, the Mi 5S Plus packs a Dual 13 Mega Pixel cameras at back (Sony IMX 258) with Dual LED flash and 4 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls and Selfie pictures. It also comes with a fingerprint reader on the back and USB Type-C connector. In addition to that it comes with a 3800mAh battery that is expected to last whole day on single charge.
The Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus will be available to purchase in China starting September 29th. Prices start from $300 for a Mi 5S 3GB/64GB variant and $345 for a Mi 5S Plus 4GB/64GB variant. Both these smartphones will be available in four different colors: dark grey, gold, silver and pink. Stay tuned for more updates.
