OnePlus has officially announced it’s latest flagship smartphone, OnePlus 2 featuring Google’s latest Android OS. It is the successor to current flagship OnePlus One which was launched last year. In size, it measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.85mm and weighs 175g. The second generation OnePlus 2 smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor and 4GB RAM. For multimedia, the OnePlus 2 packs a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, laser focus and capability of shooting 4K videos and 5 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls and Selfie pictures. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 80e2.11 b/g/n, GPS/GPS-A, USB Type-C connectivity, NFC technology, Dual SIM functionality and LTE mobile connections.
The OnePlus 2 comes pre-installed with latest version of Oxygen OS based on Google’s Android 5.1 OS. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front that OnePlus claims will be faster than iPhone 6. In addition to that it comes with a powerful 3300mAh battery. The OnePlus 2 will be sold via invite system and prices start from $329 for a 16GB variant. It will be available to pre-order in key markets on August 11th. Stay tuned for more updates.
