Apple has officially announced it’s first wearable device, Apple Watch. It comes with a specially designed and engineered ‘Digital Crown’ that provides an innovative way to scroll, zoom and navigate. The digital crown also serves as the home button and a convenient way to access Siri. The Apple Watch comes with comprehensive health and fitness apps that can help people lead healthier lives. The Retina Display on Apple Watch features Force Touch technology that senses the difference between a rap and press. It also introduces the Taptic Engine and a built-in speakers that provides notifications that you can hear and feel. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g to pair seamlessly with iPhone.
The Apple Watch comes in three different collections : Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. It is made from custom alloys of polished or space black stainless steel, space grey or silver anodized aluminum and 18 karat rose or yellow gold. The Watch comes with an unique charging system that combines Apple’s MagSafe technology with inductive charging. It also comes with 11 watch faces ranging from traditional analog face to new faces like Dynamic timelapse face, Astronomy face, the solar face and many more. The Digital Touch allows you to send a sketch, a gentle tap, an audio message or even your own heartbeat. The Watch also supports Apple’s new payment service Apple Pay. The Activity and Workout apps are designed to motivate you to be more active throughout the day. The Apple Watch is compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus running the latest iOS 8 operating system. It will be available to purchase in US in early 2015 for $349. Update : Apple Officially Announces Price and Availability for Apple Watch
Apple has officially announced that Apple Watch will go on sale in selected markets starting April 24th. The price will range from $349 to $17000 (£299 to £13500) depending on the metals the watch is made from and the straps it is bought with.
The 1.7-inch display models will cost $50 more than the 1.5-inch variants. The battery life is expected to last up to 18 hours on a single charge and the watch will be fully charged in 2.5 hours. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Uber, Shazam and WeChat will be available to install at the launch.
