BlackBerry Q20 is the latest flagship smartphone from the Canadian manufacturer BlackBerry featuring the classic menu keys and an integrated trackpad. It will be the successor to BlackBerry’s current QWERTY flagship, BlackBerry Q10. The BlackBerry Q20 will feature the familiar and classic ‘Menu’, ‘Back’, ‘Send’ and ‘End’ keys and in integrated trackpad. It was previously rumored few months ago and was also known as BlackBerry Q30. The BlackBerry Q20 will feature a large 3.5-inch display with resolution of 720 x 720 pixels on top of BlackBerry’s patented QWERTY keyboard design with frets and sculpted keys for the best typing experience. The BlackBerry Q20 will be crafted from premium materials and designed for reliability and durability. It will come pre-installed with the latest version of BlackBerry 10 OS. In addition to that it will pack a large battery to provide superior battery life. Rest of the specifications are unknown but BlackBerry Q20 will be available to purchase in second half of 2014.

Update : According to a Bloomberg report, BlackBerry Q20 will go on sale in September or October.

“I have to be making sure that the user interface is one that has a modern technology as well as letting the old user base — like the Bold 9900 — be comfortable,” John Chen said in an interview with Bloomberg. “I am bridging the two worlds, and that takes a little while.” In addition to that he thinks that Research in Motion is lot better than BlackBerry. “I personally like Research In Motion a lot better,” Chen said. “I have never given one nanosecond of thought to changing names,” he said.

Update : BlackBerry CEO John Chen has confirmed that BlackBerry’s next flagship smartphone BlackBerry Q20 will be renamed to ‘BlackBerry Classic’. In addition to that he said that BlackBerry will continue to make few more touch screen models in the future.

Update : In an interview with USA Today, BlackBerry CEO John Chen said that BlackBerry Classic will go on sale in November 2014.

There’s a new product called the BlackBerry Classic that’s coming out. It’s an updated and enhanced version of one of our most popular and successful products called the Bold. It will include a keyboard and a good touch-screen, very fast internet, Web browsing capability and multimedia capability. But also it will be very productive and very secure. So, all the familiar things that people love, with some new technology updated. That will come out in November along with the server that helps companies manage devices. Not only the BlackBerry device, but every device, the iPhone and androids and windows and everything else.

According to a leaked Geekbench Browser Test, BlackBerry Classic will be powered by 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB RAM. It looks like the specs are similar to BlackBerry’s first BlackBerry 10 flagship, the BlackBerry Z10.

The BlackBerry Classic will feature a 3.5-inch HD display with resolution of 720 x 720 pixels (294ppi pixel density), 1.5GHz Dual Core processor, 2GB RAM, 8 Mega Pixel rear camera, 2 Mega Pixel front facing camera, NFC technology and powerful 2515mAh non removable battery. In size, it will measure 131 x 72.4 x 10.2 mm and weigh 178g. The BlackBerry Classic is expected to go on sale in selected markets starting December 2014.
