Google Gem is rumored to be the codename for first SmartWatch from internet giant Google featuring the latest Android 4.4 OS. The smartwatch will be focused around search giant’s digital personal assistant, Google Now. It would be able to accept voice commands, display notifications, check emails and text messages, set alarms and give frequent reminders for various tasks. The Google SmartWatch will come pre-installed with custom version of Android 4.4 OS. It will act as a second screen to the large screened Android smartphones. The Google SmartWatch is rumored to launch alongside Google’s next flagship smartphone Nexus 5 at a press event on October 31st. Stay tuned for more updates or follow @harrym20 on Twitter.


Update : According to a WSJ report, Google is expected to launch its first SmartWatch in coming months. The search giant is in talks with asian suppliers to start mass production of the wearable device which is expected to feature Android OS and will focus around Google Now.

Update : According to a new WSJ report, LG will make Google’s first Android SmartWatch. Google is rumored to launch its first SmartWatch at Google developer event in June.

Update : According to @evleaks , Google’s first SmartWatch will feature a 1.65-inch IPS display with resolution of 280 x 280 pixels, 512MB RAM and 4GB built-in memory. It is expected to launch at Google’s developer event in June 2014.
