Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is the latest flagship tablet from world’s largest online retailer Amazon. It is the successor to original Kindle Fire HD 8.9. In size, it measures 231 x 158 x 7.8mm and weighs only 374g. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a HD display with the resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (339ppi pixel density). It is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM. For multimedia, Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 packs an 8 Mega Pixel rear camera with LED flash and front facing HD camera for Skype video calls. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, GPS-A, microUSB and LTE mobile connections. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 comes pre-installed with Amazon’s Fire 3.0 “Mojito” OS (which is based on Google’s Android 4.2 OS) and new features like X-Ray for music and an improved Amazon Prime videos. In addition to that it comes with a free Live 24/7 on-device tech support via a ‘Mayday’ button. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 will be available in three different variants depending on the on-board storage – 16GB or 32GB or 64GB. The battery life is expected to last up to 11 hours on single charge. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is now available to pre-order for $379 (Wifi model) from Amazon website and it is scheduled to arrive on November 7th. Stay tuned for more updates.
