Desire 500 is the latest mid range smartphone from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC featuring Google’s Jelly Bean OS. In size, it measures 131.8 x 66.9 x 9.9 mm and weighs only 123g. The Desire 500 features a 4.3-inch WVGA display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 processor and 1GB RAM. For multimedia, Desire 500 packs an 8 Mega Pixel rear camera capable of shooting HD videos and 1.6 Mega Pixel front facing camera for video calls. For connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA for wirelessly streaming media from phone to PC or TV, GPS-A and HSDPA mobile connections. For storage, Desire 500 comes with 4GB of built-in memory and microSD card slot at back. In addition to that it packs a powerful 1800mAh removable battery that gives talk time of up to 12.1 hours on 3G network. The Desire 500 comes pre-installed with Google’s Jelly Bean OS and runs the latest Sense 5 UI which includes features like BlinkFeed home screen reader and automatic video highlights. The new HTC Desire 500 will be available in europe from August 2013. It will also be available with dual SIM and NFC support in selected markets.
