ATIV Q is the latest tablet from korean giant Samsung featuring dual operating systems. It is the first tablet to support dual OS in the form of Windows 8 and Android 4.2. In size, it measures 13.9mm in thickness and weighs only 1.29kg. The ATIV Q features a 13.3-inch qHD+ display with resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels (275ppi pixel density). It is powered by Intel Core i5 Haswell processor. The ATIV Q comes pre-installed with full Windows 8 and Android 4.2 operating systems. To switch between the OS, users simply have to press the Start button. Users can also pin Android apps to the Windows Start screen and vice versa. There is no information available on pricing and availability of the hybrid tablet but ATIV Q is expected to be available during second half of 2013. Update : Samsung’s first dual booting laptop/tablet hybrid ATIV Q is rumored to be cancelled due to patent issues. The south korean publication Naver reports that Samsung has ran into some patent related issues and is now considering to cancel the device launch. There is no official confirmation from Samsung on this matter but ATIV Q product page has been removed for the Samsung site.
