Nexus 5 will be Google’s fifth generation flagship smartphone build by LG electronics. It is the successor to the current flagship Nexus 4 (pictured above). The Nexus 5 is rumored to feature a 5.2-inch OLED display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is rumored to be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor and 2GB RAM. For multimedia, it is rumored to feature a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera capable of shooting 1080p videos and 2.1 Mega Pixel front facing HD camera. For connectivity, it will support Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n & NFC technology. For storage, Nexus 5 will come in two versions – 16GB or 32GB. The Nexus 5 is rumored to feature Google’s next generation Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) OS. There is no official confirmation from LG but rumors are that Nexus 5 will be launched during Q3 of 2013. The Nexus 5 will compete against other flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One and Apple iPhone 5S. Stay tuned for more updates or follow @harrym20 on Twitter.
Update : Google’s next flagship smartphone Nexus 5 will come pre-installed with Android 4.3 instead of Android 5.0. The leaked image (pictured below) proves the existence of Android 4.3 OS.
Update : A new report from korean site Daum suggests that the design of Google’s next flagship smartphone Nexus 5 will be based on LG G2 and will feature Snapdragon 800 processor and 3GB RAM. It is expected to launch during Q4 (October) of 2013.
Update : According to Engadget, LG-D820 is rumored to be the codename for Google’s next flagship smartphone Nexus 5. It has just passed through the FCC bearing a striking resemblance to the device pictured above. This LG-D820 device supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, HSPA+ and LTE mobile connections. It will be powered by Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor. The firmware build indicates that the codename of the device is “aosp_hammerhead and is running Android 4.4 OS. The Nexus 5 will feature a 5-inch full HD display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. In size, it measures 131.9mm high and 68.2mm wide. In addition to that Nexus 5 will come with a non removable 2300mAh battery.
Update : The LG D821/D820 will be the CDMA version of LG G2. A leaked image of LG D821 (pictured below) shows LG’s latest flagship smartphone with CDMA connectivity.
