The Pebble E-Paper Watch is the first smartwatch from Pebble technology built for today’s smartphone generation. It is fully customizable with the help of internet connected apps. The Pebble smartwatch will feature a 1.26-inch e-paper display with the resolution of 144 x 168 pixels. It will connect to an iPhone or Android device using its bluetooth 4.0 connection. The Pebble smartwatch alerts you with a silent vibration to incoming calls, emails and messages. It will come pre-installed with loads of apps. The battery of Pebble watch is expected to last up to seven days. Pebble smartwatch will also come with tons of downloadable watchfaces. Users can choose their favourite watchfaces using Pebble’s iPhone or Android app. Users can also customize the notifications on Pebble smartwatch. Incoming caller ID, Email, Calendar alerts, Facebook messages, Twitter and weather alerts can all be shown on the smartwatch display. Users can simply dismiss a notification with a shake of their wrist. Setting up Pebble smartwatch is as easy as downloading the Pebble app on to your smartphone. All software updates are wirelessly transferred to the smartwatch. The Pebble smartwatch is compatible with all Android devices running OS 2.3 and up. The iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S running iOS 5 or any iPod Touch with iOS 5 is also compatible with the smartwatch. The Pebble smartwatch will be launched by the end Q2 of 2013. Update : Pebble will make a big announcement at CES 2013 on January 9. Rumors are that the company will launch its first Pebble smartwatch at CES 2013.
Update : Pebble officially launched e-paper watch at CES 2013 this year and announced that it will start shipping pre-orders to kickstarter backers from January 23.
