Yotaphone is the latest dual display smartphone from russian broadband provider Yota featuring Google’s latest Android 4.2 OS. In size, it measures 131 x 67x 9mm and weighs only 140g. YotaPhone will feature a 4.3-inch LCD display with the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at front and the same size e-ink display on the back. The e-ink display is customised to show time, weather and social networking messages. It can also be used to read books and news. YotaPhone will be powered by Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual core krait processor and 2GB RAM. For multimedia, it will feature a 12 Mega Pixel camera at back capable of shooting 1080p videos and a front facing HD camera. For connectivity, YotaPhone will support Bluetooth 3.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC technology and LTE mobile connections. For Storage, Yotaphone will come with an internal 32GB Flash memory.
Overall, Yotaphone is a very impressive concept. The only letdown from this smartphone is its 2100mAh battery. Yotaphone is expected to launch in Russia during Q3 of 2013. US and European release is rumored to be during Q1 of 2014. Stay tuned for more updates or follow @harrym20 on Twitter.
Update : The dual-screen YotaPhone will be available to purchase around the world by the end of Q4 2013. It is expected to retail at $670.
