Amazon Blaze is rumored to be the codename for Amazon’s first ever smartphone coming soon this fall. We first heard of this rumors back in 2011 but then the company was fully focused on tablets & ereader market. Now after the success of Kindle Fire, Amazon have decided to enter smartphone world. Blaze will feature 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by Dual core processor and 1GB RAM. Amazon Blaze will come pre-installed with Google’s Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS. Other main features that we can expect from this flagship device are 5 Mega Pixel rear camera, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n & GPS location services. There is no official announcement from Amazon but rumors are that Blaze will be launched during Q2 of 2013. Amazon’s first ever smartphone will be available during Q3 of 2013. Update : Amazon did not unveil its first Smartphone at a press event on Sept 6. The reason behind this is that the smartphone is still in development and Amazon didn’t want to announce an unfinished product. Expect the official release by the end of Q2 of 2013.

Update: According to Financial Times report, Amazon is working with HTC release multiple smartphones in 2014.
Update : According to Bloomberg, Amazon and HTC have been in talks to develop handsets for sale to users of the Amazon Prime service. Amazon wants to increase the number of devices that can access its Instant Video service and seeks to sell phones through subscriptions with carriers.
Update : According to a new Digitimes report, Amazon’s debut smartphone will feature a 5-inch full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, Qualcomm’s quad core Snapdragon 800 processor and 13 Mega Pixel rear camera capable of shooting Full HD videos. It is expected to launch in the second half of 2014.
Update : According to a new report, Amazon is expected to launch its first smartphone in next three to six months. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the production is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2014. The key feature is rumored to be the six cameras, including a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera and front facing HD camera for video call. Rest of the four cameras will be used for gesture control, allowing users to operate the smartphone without touching the screen. The debut smartphone from Amazon will feature a 4.7-inch display with pixel density between 300-320ppi. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB RAM. In addition to that the smartphone is rumored to come with a powerful 2400mAh battery.
Update : According to WSJ report, Amazon is expected to launch its debut smartphone in June 2014. The flagship smartphone will go on sale by the end of September 2014.

According to leaked images (pictured below) from BGR, Amazon’s debut smartphone will feature a 4.7-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor and 2GB RAM. The Amazon Smartphone will come pre-installed with custom version of Google’s Android OS, similar to one that powers Kindle tablets.
