Sony Xperia U
Sony Xperia U is a mid range smartphone from Japanese Giant. After buying Ericsson’s stake in joint venture, Sony is going all alone in the smartphone world in 2012. They have announced Sony Xperia Ion and Sony Xperia S earlier this month at CES 2012 as their flagship handsets. Next in line is Xperia U and will be announced during MWC in Barcelona next month. Xperia U is a mid range smartphone aimed for people who are on budget. Main features of Xperia U are 3.5-inch qHD display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, 512 MB RAM, Android Gingerbread OS, 5 Mega Pixel camera with 720p recording, Auto focus, geo tagging and face detection. In addition to this has VGA camera in front for video calls. For connectivity Xperia U supports 3G mobile connections, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.1. There are no official confirmation on the device. Sony will be announcing Xperia U at next month’s MWC in Barcelona. Expect more details after official release. Other mid range smartphone that Xperia U will be competing are Motorola Luxe, Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung Galaxy S Advance. Stay tune or follow on twitter.
Update : Sony will be updating its Tablets & Smartphones to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) in this spring. All Xperia models and Sony tablets will get the update by the end of May 2012.
Update : Sony Xperia U will be launched in UK from Clove Technology on 23 April 2012.
