BlackBerry PlayBook is first tablet PC from canadian technology giant RIM. The core of BlackBerry PlayBook is a brand new BlackBerry Tablet OS (BB10) powered by a 1GHz Dual core Processor and 1GB of RAM, excellent for multi tasking and browsing on the web. For the looks, it doesn’t look special. But 7 inch is definitely right size of tablet. It is portable and consumes less power than 10-inch screen tablets. Unlike the touchscreen interface on most tablets, BlackBerry PlayBook’s touch features extend right across the bezel in all directions to the edge of the device. Swiping your finger from the edge of the device onto screen will bring all menus and features. It is really impressive.
It comes with 2 cameras – a 3 MP on front and 5MP at back. The 5MP at the rear is for still shots and recording HD videos. Front camera is mainly for video conferencing but can be used for capturing still images as well. It can also play FULL HD 1080p. The screen itself is sharp and crisp with 1024 x 600 resolution. A HD video on PlayBook looks fabulous. You can also play it on other media via mini HDMI connection. What’s more, the Playbook supports flash contents unlike ipad.
The best feature of PlayBook is multi tasking. You can run as many apps or videos as you want and watch the thumbnails playing side by side. There is no lag or any kind of brief pause. This is where that 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM comes handy. Another feature that BlackBerry users will love on PlayBook is that it can bridge between BlackBerry device and can synchronize contacts, contacts emails and calendar between each other effortlessly. The main drawback of all these exciting features are battery consumption. But surprisingly PlayBook can last upto 10 hours on a single charge.
Overall it ticks all the boxes. Loading apps, playing games, watching videos, listening music and browsing the web, everything is fast and awesome. The BlackBerry PlayBook (Wifi only) is on sale now from all the leading mobile retailers worldwide.
